Houston Food Bank - The Houston Food Bank provides food to 400 hunger relief agencies in the city of Houston and the surrounding 18 counties. The food bank is a major hub for these agencies where food is sorted and prepared to be shipped out. Despite the food bank's original purpose it has developed programs such as kids cafe and operation frontline, where hunger is not only relieved but where also the importance of proper nutrition is taught. In addition, kids cafe teaches young people age 7-17 how to cook healthy meals in a supervised after-school environment. These various programs and the original goal of getting food out into the communities necessitates volunteers with various skills and capabilities.
MADD (Mothers Against Drunk
Drivers) - Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a 501(c)(3) non-profit grass
roots organization with more than 600 chapters nationwide. MADD is not a crusade against
alcohol consumption. Our focus is to look for effective solutions to the drunk driving and
underage drinking problems, while supporting those who have already experienced the pain
of these senseless crimes.

The Ronald McDonald House of Houston offers a home away from home for
families with children being treated at a Texas Medical Center
institution for cancer or other serious illnesses. More than just
a place to sleep, the Ronald McDonald House provides a warm, safe, and
comfortable home-like environment for families who are caring for
seriously ill children
